Inera | An Atypon Company announces Edifix API 2.0

March 14, 2022, Medford, MA—Inera, an Atypon company and the leading provider of editorial and XML software for scholarly, technical, and standards publishers, today announced the release of the Edifix API, version 2.0.

Edifix automates the crucial but tedious work of correcting, formatting, and linking reference lists, so that editorial staff can focus on the many other demands of editing. Inera’s patented system for automated processing of bibliographic references helps customers ensure accuracy, provide links to cited sources, meet style requirements, and save time. Edifix gives users access to information about retracted publications and, via our partnership with Cabells, flags articles that appear in potentially predatory journals.

Edifix API 2.0 operates asynchronously, allowing for more efficient resource use, higher processing volumes, and job drop-off capability. The improved API features better authentication management and allows users to download a wider range of job metadata for previous as well as current jobs.

“We’re excited about our move to API 2.0 because of the improved features and higher processing volumes it offers, on top of the reliable service we’ve seen from Edifix API 1.1,” said Guy van der Kolk, Product Manager at Typefi. “And of course we’re always happy to be collaborating with Inera!”

The new API will soon be in use in Edifix integrations with Typefi, Xpublisher, Lumina Datamatics, and Wiley’s eAssistant system.
