At the 2017 AAUP Annual Meeting in Austin, TX, Sylvia Hunter (Principal, All in the Words, and Communications and Marketing Specialist, Inera) presented at the session “Why Markup Matters.” Sylvia’s talk, “Contextual Editing Using Markup,” focused on the editorial benefits of semantic markup of scholarly text in Microsoft Word, including enhanced navigation, find-and-replace, and complex automatic editing using tools such as eXtyles.
