eXtyles new features highlighted at XUG 2015

At this year’s eXtyles User Group (XUG) meeting, Inera introduced a number of new eXtyles features that will become available in the upcoming months. The highlights are summarized here, but be sure to check out the full presentations for more details.

  • ORCiD Auto-Reconciliation: Coming soon, eXtyles will automatically synchronize author information from an online submission system with the author information in the Word file. This process will compare the two author lists and then automatically integrate the ORCiD data into the XML exported from eXtyles; no copy-and-paste required!
  • Available now! Full eXtyles processing of “live” footnotes and endnotes: eXtyles can now fully process both plain-text and live (i.e., linked) notes within Word during Cleanup, Auto-Redact, and Advanced Processing. Further, eXtyles can convert plain-text notes to live footnotes and endnotes, a feature that allows for a host of enhanced workflow possibilities. Let us know if you’d like to learn more about how you can implement these exciting new note-handling features!
  • Rich metadata import: eXtyles can now import hierarchical XML metadata via the document information dialog – for example, entire funding group elements – and then pass that metadata through to the XML export.
  • Journal database download: Coming soon! You will be able to download from within eXtyles an updated journal database rather than having to wait for a new build for the update. This feature will give you perpetual access to the most current journal database, which helps eliminate eXtyles reference processing warnings about unrecognized journal titles.
