| The Reference List Contains Hyperlinked Author Names Downloaded from Medline
In files in which the author has downloaded references from Medline,
the Hyperlink character style applied to the author list can interfere
with eXtyles® processing. Once the hyperlinks are removed, the eXtyles functions
work properly. Inera offers a patch file that will strip the Hyperlink
character style during Cleanup and resolve this increasingly common
problem; if you would like this patch, please contact Inera Technical Support.
If your workflow requires the retention of the Hyperlink character style in some elements of
your documents, there are ways to selectively strip the style using Word tools.
For example:
(1) In the Word Find dialog, select "More" and click on "Format" and then "Style" in the drop-down menu. Select "Hyperlink" from the list of styles. (You do not need to enter any text in the "Find what" field.) Click "Find Next."
(2) Click through all the hyperlinks that are correct. When the Find dialog highlights an incorrect hyperlink, such as an author name in the reference list, use Ctrl-space bar to strip the "Hyperlink" style.
(3) Do this for all of the incorrect hyperlinks, and then proceed with eXtyles processing.
Using this method, as opposed to highlighting the entire reference list and hitting Ctrl-space, enables you to selectively remove styling without stripping correct hyperlinks or face markup such as italics.
