Inera maintains technology, OEM, and consulting partnerships with leading firms in the publishing industry.

Since 1986, Aries Systems has successfully delivered technology that enhances the scientific publishing process: Knowledge Finder® for online literature searching and Editorial Manager® and Preprint Manager® for online manuscript submission, tracking, and post-acceptance production management.

Aries and Inera have integrated the eXtyles® reference-processing tool with Aries' Editorial Manager and Preprint Manager. The XML interfacing of the eXtyles application with Editorial Manager provides peer reviewers with hyperlinked bibliographies, authors with early warning of bibliographic errors, and editors with reference lists that have been formatted according to house style.

MathType™ from Design Science is a powerful interactive tool for Windows and Macintosh that lets you create mathematical notation for word processing, web pages, desktop publishing, and presentations as well as for TeX, LaTeX, and MathML documents. MathType is the professional version of the Equation Editor in Microsoft Office and many other products.

eXtyles incorporates seamless integration of MathType to permit powerful equation editing within Microsoft Word and MathML or TeX export of equations embedded within valid XML created directly from Word.

CrossRef's general purpose is to promote the development and cooperative use of new and innovative technologies to speed and facilitate scholarly research. The specific CrossRef mission is to be the citation linking backbone for all scholarly information in electronic form. CrossRef is a collaborative reference linking service that functions as a sort of digital switchboard. It holds no full-text content but rather effects linkages through Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), which are tagged to article metadata supplied by the participating publishers. The end result is an efficient, scalable linking system through which a researcher can click on a reference citation in a journal and access the cited article.

eXtyles tightly integrates CrossRef validation and linking, providing a unique way to increase the quality of scholarly publications early in the editorial workflow. CrossRef has also deployed a custom version of eXtyles refXpress®, Simple-Text Query, that parses unstructured, free-text references into granular and valid XML and returns any matching DOIs for those references.

RSuite, a content management system from Really Strategies, facilitates the creation, management, re-use, and distribution of XML, media files, and other document formats (Word, InDesign, or PDF). RSuite offers a full suite of editorial and production capabilities along with powerful search and content packaging technologies. The server-side software is web-enabled and allows for access from globally distributed teams. RSuite offers a click-and-drop workflow administration interface that is easily set up and quickly adapts to changing publishing environments. Whether you are managing one product or thousands, RSuite is architected to deploy quickly to see a return on investment in months, not years.

Mark Logic Corporation is the provider of the industry's leading XML content server. Mark Logic works with providers of information products to accelerate new product creation, deliver products through multiple channels, integrate content from different sources, repurpose content into multiple products, build custom publishing systems, and mine content to find previously undiscovered information. MarkLogic Server does this by enabling companies to query, manipulate, and render XML content using the W3C-standard XQuery language. Designed for high performance and scalability, MarkLogic Server can deliver millisecond response times against multi-terabyte contentbases. Mark Logic is privately held and backed by Sequoia Capital and Lehman Brothers.
