eXtyles NLM
eXtyles NLM is an off-the-shelf configuration of eXtyles that enables users to create
PubMed Central–compliant XML according to the NLM Journal Publishing DTD directly
from Microsoft Word. eXtyles NLM can be used to quickly, easily, and accurately convert
most scholarly journal articles from Word to high-quality XML without custom configuration
or XML expertise.
eXtyles NLM includes a full set of tools needed to produce rich, accurate
XML from Word that meets the standards required for XML deposit with PubMed Central and CrossRef.
The suite includes tools to parse journal references, link references to PubMed and CrossRef,
and match references to in-text citations. These processes operate within Word and automatically
apply the document structuring required to export full-text, valid NLM XML with the push of a
button.
eXtyles NLM is designed to provide an immediate and cost-effective solution
for STM publishers with limited resources who need to create XML according to the NLM DTD.
This standard, comprehensive configuration will accommodate the requirements of most journal
publishers without additional customization.

eXtyles RefPro
eXtyles RefPro is an off-the-shelf add-in to MS Word that incorporates the full suite
of eXtyles bibliographic reference processing tools. eXtyles RefPro eliminates
significant manual work by automatically editing journal references to a standard
or custom style, linking references to PubMed and CrossRef, and correcting missing
or incorrect reference elements with data retrieved from PubMed and CrossRef.
The eXtyles RefPro reference restructuring and linking tools eliminate
time-consuming manual editing and searching and provide detailed feedback on reference
quality. The reference correction tools dramatically improve reference accuracy by
intelligently merging data from PubMed and CrossRef with author-supplied data,
reformatting the reference according to the publisher's preferred style, and providing
warnings if significant discrepancies are found.

STM publishers who require reference lists of the highest quality.

eXtyles refXpress®
Inera's unique eXtyles refXpress technology enables scholarly publishers to automate parsing and editing of reference lists.
Designed for use on high-performance servers with current content or back-content archives, refXpress automatically turns
unstructured Word or XML reference lists into parsed references linked to online databases such as PubMed and CrossRef.
Unlike simpler pattern-based solutions, where reference input must adhere precisely to a publication style
and custom setup is required for each style used, eXtyles refXpress heuristic-based processing can parse references in an
unlimited number of styles without pre-configuration. In addition, the highly accurate parsing can be used to automatically
reformat references to a specific editorial style, significantly reducing editorial time and increasing the accuracy of
published references.
