National Research Council of Canada Selects eXtyles From Inera for Editorial System

Newton, MA, April 8, 2003 - Inera, Inc., one of the leading providers of editorial and XML production software for the publishing industry, today announced that The National Research Council of Canada, Research Press has chosen eXtyles as their primary automated content-editing solution for 15 major journals. NRC Research Press has been publishing scholarly journals since 1929. As part of the Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information, NRC press publishes journals, monographs, conference proceedings, and allied publications.

eXtyles is a suite of editorial, production and XML tools for Microsoft Word that has been specifically designed to automate the styling, formatting and XML production of scholarly journals. eXtyles automates many of the time consuming tasks faced by editors, allowing them to focus on content and work more efficiently. eXtyles provides a bridge between editorial departments, who need easy-to-use tools, and production departments, who increasingly need XML for web and print production.

“We’re delighted that The National Research Council Press has chosen eXtyles to automate their editorial and XML production processes,” said Inera CEO Bruce Rosenblum, “using eXtyles allows them to move to an XML workflow for the first time and allows them to utilize CrossRef to validate references for material outside of the life sciences area.”
